Trusted Backup Home Generator Services in Arcadia, FL
Arcadia and DeSoto County are inland, but rural Florida is not protected from hurricanes. Long distribution lines running across agricultural terrain are among the most storm-vulnerable utility infrastructure in the state, and when a significant system moves through, DeSoto County can see outages that last considerably longer than what urban and suburban areas experience. Hurricane Ian's path in 2022 brought historic Peace River flooding and weeks-long power loss to parts of the county. Select Power provides standby generator installation, maintenance, and repair throughout Arcadia and DeSoto County, with factory-authorized technicians and full DeSoto County permitting capability.
For Arcadia homeowners and agricultural property owners who cannot afford to go without power for days at a time, a standby generator is a practical investment, not a luxury.
Why Arcadia Chooses Select Power
DeSoto County generator installations have a specific fuel reality that differs from most of our service area. Natural gas utility service is not available in most of the county, which means propane is the standard fuel for standby generators in Arcadia and the surrounding communities. Select Power coordinates with local propane suppliers during every installation, ensuring tank sizing is appropriate for the runtime a particular property needs during an extended outage. A 500-gallon tank is common for whole-home residential systems, and larger storage is used for properties with greater consumption needs or longer expected outage durations.
DeSoto County permitting for generator installations covers the electrical work, gas line connection, and pad construction. Our team manages that process through the county building department and attends required inspections so the homeowner does not need to track or manage any part of the compliance process. The county's smaller building department can move on different timelines than larger metro jurisdictions, and we account for that in project scheduling.
Arcadia-area properties vary significantly in their power requirements. A residential property in town and a farm or rural property outside Nocatee have very different load profiles. Select Power sizes every system based on a load calculation for your specific property, not a rule-of-thumb estimate.
Full Service Generator Solutions for Arcadia Homeowners
Select Power manages Arcadia generator installations from load calculation through DeSoto County final inspection. We assess your property, confirm propane as your fuel source, coordinate tank sizing and placement with local suppliers, and build a complete project plan that includes pad construction, electrical connection, transfer switch installation, and gas line work.
All DeSoto County permitting is handled by our team. We prepare and submit the application, schedule inspections, and attend them on your behalf. After the system passes final inspection, we complete a full commissioning test and homeowner walkthrough before closing out the project. Select Power provides all warranty service, repair response, and annual maintenance after installation. Maintenance visits keep your Arcadia generator prepared for storm season regardless of how much runtime it has accumulated since the previous service.
